At Peaceful Acres Lavender Farm, we are proud to grow a diverse selection of lavender varieties, each chosen for its unique fragrance, color, and hardiness. Our fields are a tapestry of purples, whites, and pinks, offering everything from culinary delights to high-yield oil producers.
Below is a complete list of the varieties currently thriving in our fields.
The "True Lavenders." These varieties are celebrated for their sweeter, softer fragrance and are the preferred choice for culinary use. They tend to be hardier, bloom earlier in the season (typically June/July), and offer a compact, colorful display.
Munstead A classic, early-blooming variety known for its hardiness. It produces beautiful lavender-blue spikes and has a sweet scent that makes it a favorite for fresh bundles and culinary creations.
Hidcote Deep, rich purple flowers and silver-grey foliage make Hidcote a standout in the field. It dries exceptionally well, keeping its dark color for wreaths and crafting.
Lady Also known as "Lavender Lady," this variety is a reliable bloomer with a lovely fragrance, perfect for cutting and bringing the scent of the farm indoors.
Twickle Purple Known for its long, elegant flower spikes that fan out loosely from the center of the plant. It has a fantastic fragrance and a vibrant purple hue that looks stunning in fresh bouquets.
Rosea A unique gem in our fields, Rosea surprises visitors with its soft, pale pink blooms. It offers a delicate contrast to the traditional purples and has a sweet, floral aroma.
Nana (Dwarf White) A petite and charming variety. Nana features compact spikes of white flowers, adding a sparkle of brightness to the rows. Its smaller stature makes it distinct among our other plants.
English Our traditional English variety, grown for its reliable performance and classic lavender scent that defines the species.
These vigorous hybrids are a cross between English lavender and Spike lavender. They are much larger plants that produce long, graceful stems and a high volume of essential oil with a robust, camphoraceous scent.
Grosso The workhorse of our farm and our largest oil producer. Grosso produces exceptionally long, dark violet flower spikes. Its strong, lasting fragrance makes it the top choice for sachets, wands, and distilling into our pure essential oil.
Provence Famous for the rolling fields of France, this variety has long, pale purple spikes and a wonderfully mild, sweet scent. It is excellent for drying and is often used in potpourri and crafting.
Dutch A vigorous grower with distinct grey-green foliage and broad flower spikes. It provides a beautiful display and adds to the diversity of scents and textures in our fields.
